Just watched it on opening day, and my god, this movie is f*cking awesome!
Heath Ledger did an absolute GREAT job as Joker, I couldn't stop laughing at his laughter and his presence. And Christian Bale was just hot and really into the part. <3 Enough fangirl-ish talking... anyways I just wanted to say that this movie really deserves its critical acclaim. The audience was really into it; especially with the battle scenes, which were very well done. Anyone else enjoyed the movie? |

i really enjoyed it. so many twists! i even had a hard time sleeping once i got home cuz i sometimes saw after-images of the joker's face when i blinked or closed my eyes. heath ledger really did the role justice, even way better than jack nicholson.

You're gonna love it.

I know! They kept on doing the exact opposite of what they said they would do. Surprisingly, I wasn't scared of Joker at all; in fact I think he was the reason I loved the movie so much. It's funny, because I get scared of Saw's jigsaw mask but not this. ...I'm still laughing at that pencil magic trick. XD |

Hahaha, that magic trick was epic.
The film is amazing. It grabs you from the start and doesn't let up. No slow introductions, no reminding you of who old characters are in the story; it's lean and tightly paced. Of course, Heath Ledger's Joker is awesome, but Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent was really great, too. The plot twists are good, and the way the film delves further into the minds of both Batman and his enemies kept it tense. I love the view on the nature of good and evil, and Chris Nolan's writing and directing is really great. Can't wait until I can see it again. -------------------- ![]() |

@virile: God, I hope that picture is official DC artwork. xD
Also, I keep hearing how good this movie is. So it actually is good, and it's not just hyped up because of Heath Ledger's untimely death? In which case, I'm glad...though it really is sad that he passed so suddenly. This could've been his breakout role. =( Also, I'm glad to see that this movie has action in it. I was bored to death by "Batman Begins" -- there was too much damn dialogue, and something about it just seemed...meh. I couldn't even get through the whole movie; that's how bored I was, =\ -------------------- ~Oasis Heart3

Got some sweet Batman-related stuffies here.
First, Kevin Pereira versus Batman. They created this back when Batman Begins was released, but it's still great. Second, Is it time for Batman to tone it down? And third, Bat Battle, a really funny article about the top actors that played Batman in movies. -------------------- ![]() |

"Could you at least yell something when you're swooping around to warn people you're coming?" "FEAAAAAR MEEEEEEE!" "Not that!" Anyway, still haven't seen this movie. My plans are always ruined. -------------------- |

Also, I keep hearing how good this movie is. So it actually is good, and it's not just hyped up because of Heath Ledger's untimely death? A legitimate worry, but it really is a fantastic movie. Heath Ledger does a wonderful job, totally independent of it being his last role -- obviously very few people would dare criticize his performance given his death, but honestly I can't really think of anything to criticize. And I wasn't a huge fan of Batman Begins either, by the way -- I liked it all right, but I downright loved The Dark Knight. Definitely want to see it again in theaters. I didn't realize until I got there that it's nearly 3 hours long, but it's paced surprisingly well. It's not one of those movies that's just long for the sake of being long and epic; it actually needs to be that long to tell everything it's trying to tell. They couldn't have broken it up into multiple movies. It doesn't drag, though, it keeps you interested the whole way through ... and I was exhausted when I saw it. (I went to the midnight showing despite the opening falling during the second week of my 5-morning-a-week summer class and had to be up at 7am the next day. XD Worth it.) There are going to be so many Ledger-style Joker costumes this Halloween ... |

Just finished watching it. Thought it was great. I think Heath Ledger's death put a lot of people's focus on him, and he DID do a fucking amazing job, but I think being able to watch the slow, twisting psyche of Harvey Dent, and the event that blew him over the top and brought out the crazy that was always there, was pretty damn awesome too.

lol just read that article about the 5 batmans:
"That's right: BatKeaton invented a gadget whose only purpose is to hit you in the balls." lol - classic. "Homoerotic Subtext? Only in the sense that we spent this movie wondering if BatBale liked us. You know, as more than friends." LOL heath ledger is what makes people proud to be australian.. that was truly amazing. i'm not sure about what virile says; yes his death put the focus on heath's role.. but i think even if he didn't die the joker was just sooo amazing you kept wanting to know what his next twisted deed was. i love aaron eckhart's two-face (anything beats tommy lee jones' attempt) but i think they could have made the character more black and white. the coin only really decided the fate of the people.. live or die.. rather than decide his actions.. good or bad.. which sorta makes two-face less morally questionable. he just became a bad guy who killed or didn't kill, rather than a tormented soul choosing between forgiveness and vengeance. either way.. joker.. amazing. if not for heath's death i would have loved to see a joker back story - the one based on the Red Hood story; batman causing the to-be-joker criminal to fall/jump into chemicals. that and harley quinn <3 -------------------- |

HARLEY QUINN!!!
Man, that role would be even tougher than straight madness, like the joker... a rational psychologist falls in love with the joker, and takes shape as a demented harlequin who loves the joker regardless of any death threats and abuse he flings at her. -------------------- |

I completely agree. They both gave amazing performances, and I hope Eckhart doesn't get too overlooked. And yes, Harley Quinn would be one hell of a villian to see...if only... -------------------- ![]() |

Well Harley Quinn is still a very very high possibility as the next Batman villain. Vengeance against Batman...

It's kind of incomplete to have her on her own. The best Harley Quinn moments are seing her react to the Joker...she's not really that great of a villain running solo.
