Maakii, the lead singer of HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, posted on the band's official blog this morning with news:
She has gotten married to DREAMS COME TRUE's Nakamura Masoda and will leave the band by the end of the year.

A rough translation of her blog post:

Dear everyone,
On June 22, Onaga Maakii and Nakamura Masato did humbly get married. And, by the end of the year, I will graduate my actions with HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR. So far everyone has supported me and my abrupt decision, and I want to say I am deeply sorry. (Here she names all the band members and the fans...Maybe in thanks? I don't know...) Everyone, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. Really, really thank you. (I don't understand this part). After this, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, please do well.

I just watched them preform Pride, HOT LIMIT & Ichirin no Hana live on one of my japanese shows last week too.

We should be nice and at least say congrats to Maaki for getting married. Good for her biggrin.gif

Well here are the 4 things I think can happen tongue.gif
1. The band breaks up all together and each member goes their separate ways
2. They find another female lead singer to replace Maaki
3. Yuuksuke takes over as lead singer full time.
4. Maaki changes her mind and does come back to the band


We'll just have to wait and see.

Hope they don't disband and Yuusuke takes the lead singing. Maybe in that way they're songs can change to more rock

She married Nakamura Masoda, bassist of DREAMS COME TRUE. He is turning 50 this year and Maakii is turning 21.

We don't know until we hear it from someone official.

Like I said, there are a TON of rumors going around to why she got married.

The one I've been hearing the most is that she married the guy to start her solo career and he's gonna be the producer, so who knows.

If she does decide to go solo, I will be a little better with the breakup (As long as she doesn't turn out like Tomiko).
The other members of HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR are great and all...But I secretly only followed them because of Maakii...It took me until this to realize that...I don't have any interest in following them at the current moment, but you never know...

The band is going to lose a lot of quality without her. Yuusuke doesn't have a great voice, I hope they choose another girl.

Just you guys watch, she's gonna pull a Hikki (get divorced after a few years) and she'll be back.

too bad cause she really has a cute voice. a cute female voice mix with hard rock is a great combo and if Yuusuke takes over fulltime as lead singer......hopefully that will NEVER happen

hopefully they'll find another female singer....maybe Ban Chan? wouldn't that be awesome?
