i play piano/keyboard, guitar, bass, drums (Not all at the same time of course) and learned it through the course of being in a band. :wink:

i play guitar, bass, djembe, and mandolin. Guitar is definately my strong point. i have recorded some stuff, but it is quite lost at the moment.

I played guitar and drums, but mostly into drums (because it's hard to find a drummer! dammit i wanna play guitar!). My guitar skill kinda sucks now because I haven't play for a while.
Btw, I'd recorded my performances during some showcase here in Melbourne. It's on the YouTube. My band is called The Rollies. Click the following link if u guys wanna watch it.

um, I'm a vocalist in a band that's on hiatus. we played pretty much a range of stuff from blues to ska to punk to metal. We've played a few shows, but none of the tracks that have been recorded, like demos and such, are uploaded onto a computer.
But I guess I'll go into a little detail about vocals. I'm classically trained for 14-15 years in Carnatic Vocal Music. But my vocals in my band range from growls, to snarls, to roars, and clean vox, to which sometimes I add carnatic embellishments. --------------------  R.I.P. CHI CHENG  |

10-ish years of piano, but no original songs to offer. And I love singing, but I'm not really any good. :roll: Maybe I'll try lessons again one day, after next semester's intro guitar ...

yeah, but it's a different sort of classical, because there's not any concrete written format from which we can read it from. So I really want to learn how to read western musical notation. I haven't so far because I was learning Carnatic music for so long. maybe someday...

that's the way it's taught to us. This word of mouth thing is how hindus were learning the Vedas for so long. It's pretty effective, but like anything else, you need to practice it to keep it sharp. So if I want to remember what I've been taught, I need to dust off my class audio tapes. :rolling:

Thnx, Yes I did recorded it myself.
But I found out yesterday, when I listened to the original song, that i forgot the last part. Well I will do it again later. I'm trying Susume Namake-mono now, but I only put it on youtube when it's finished and sounds right. (will take a few weeks). I only can sing it when my wife is awaycos she won't stop laughing when I try to sing in japanese -------------------- |
