What are your future projects?
I will release an original piece in June. I’d like to release a second original album, too.

Here's the answer to your question:

Tomiko Van is 100% Japanese. But her last name is 伴 ("ban").

In Japan, when they romanize the バ-ビ-ブ-ベ-ボ katakana row, it can either start with a "b" or a "v". That's why ボルト can be read as "boruto" (bolt) or "voruto" (volt). And likewise, that's why her last name can be read as either "Ban" or "Van".

However, avex has always written "Van" on her CDs and official website, so that's the "correct" reading for her name.

...Also: please don't post in old threads UNLESS you have something very important to share. We have thousands of threads here, and we don't want them ressurrected (and therefore knocking new, important threads out of the way). Please remember that next time.

For her name, the Kanji for Ban is just 伴. The other Kanji you posted is the "To" for Tomiko, ^_-

Oops, you're right. ( ><; ) 美 is "mi", so I listed her first name as "Miko".
