Do As Infinity Forum _ Everything DAI _ The future of the band without Nagao Dai

well...my fellow DAI fans....we need to face the fact that Nagao Dai is outta the band. What do you think the future of DAI will be like? Will they continue to produce good or even better music or will they suck?

If Dai is out of the band then he should be removed on the profile of DAI's official website ...like ELT. But he isnt.. So let's leave it as that. I think he will continue to compose melodies for DAI.

No offensse guys but DoAs lately has been worst than ever. I'm hating the new songs. I'm hoping that the album will have better stuff.

Sorry but I don't know much about what Nagao Dai did. What was his contribution to the group? Did he compose or write lyrics? But maybe we will get to see the real DAI (whether that is good or not I still don't know). I can say that I like pretty much all of DAI's stuff still!

I really don´t think they´re worst than ever , I love the new way they make music and with or without Nagao I think that Ban-chan and Ryo are professionals who will keep the good job , and surely will please all their fans.

We should have faith in Ban-chan and Ryo-sempai. There style is changing, but I love D-A-I for their ability to change styles and still be great! :bunpom:

Banchan and Ryo aren't a bunch of no talent idols that do nothing and reap the rewards of a cool image. They could make it if DAI did leave for good.

Its a pity that Dai-sama has left. But I have faith in Van-chan and Ryo-san! I admit that their music is changing, but it only shows that they are a versatile duo. Anyway, what attracts me to them isn't mainly their music, their charisma and personalities are also the main reason why I supported them.
Anyway, no matter what happens, I will always support DAI!

I think that Van-chan and Owatari-san will be just fine.....Nagao-san said it himself that he had faith in Tomiko and Ryo......and both of them are really talented.....

I love both the old and new styles of DAi cuz they cover a spectrum of differnet styles and genres and no matter what Dai does they are number one in my book!!!
Anyway even though Dai nagao left recently I think he stopped acutually composing and writing for them for awhile... I mean if you notice all there songs before Be free simply said D.A.I wrote and produced. Since be free it says written by Ryo owatari. Honestly I'm not suprised he left I was expecting especially since he's also started the amasaia landscape thing, and after hearing one of their songs, I've come to the conclusion there now where near as good as Do as... DAI SAMA WHAT ARE

rrrr.... i dont think that they'll do better without dai-sama... that's why i reject to say that Dai has left the band.. if i'm not mistaken Rakuen is composed by dai right? i'm pretty sure of it.. cos it has his style, and the melody is very very good... about the lyrics (i dont understand japanese...) i dont really know...

about the song itself... ban-chan cant really play any musical instrument right? and ryo seems to be more rock'n roll.... i'll be missing some heart touching melody such as fukai more, enrai, shinjitsu no uta, and other song composed by Dai if he really gone... and it sure is no good....

why everytime there's a new DAI album I have to read always the same negative comments?!? :mad: :mad: :mad:
I can understand each of us has different musical tastes but before to give a negative opinion you have to listen to full songs! 
How can you judge Need Your Love album listening to only 30 seconds of each song?

1st choice...C'mon, I have started buying their stuff, so I don't really think they will get worse!
And I haven't any problems with eventually more rockish sound, personally I like rock songs more..It's like with Move, their songs are different almost piece from piece, but it is still MOVE with Yuri, Motsu and T-Kimura..Compremez?

well...i wonder how true the news of nagao san has left the band. After the 3rd album D.A.I released if not mistaken dai nagao wished not to appear in any of the materials in the album or even promotions and interviews(rarely see him) i don't remember his reason but i'm sure he has a good reason for that.
I have the utmose respect for him because his music has been one of the best i've heard in japan's music industry
Whether if it's true that he has left or not i will always have faith in the group
they rock lol

Yes!! He is still listed as a member of Do As Infinity on the official website. So why do we still bother with this discussion as if he has left the band? Why would a man with his immense composing talent will be depriving himself of opportunities by leaving the band and not write songs for DAI anymore?
I think he is merely choosing to concentrate on what he's good at (writing beautiful tunes) and leaving ryo and ban-chan to deliver the performances of his music, the way that only DAI can. Be Free, For the Future and Rakuen are all written by Dai-san. So I say, let's stop this discussion...cuz there's no official announcement that Dai-san is leaving.
Can't help feeling upset by all this talk about him leaving...he is STILL an integral part of the band.

It's like some fans start to lose interest in DAI but what I like about them, one part is also the repitition of melody......it's quite fun to think of which song does it sounds similiar to...

Okay. I went to some Japanese BBS's and asked the people there to clarify Dai Nagao's status.
Apparently he isn't leaving Do As Infinity, but he is "leaving the band" and taking a break.
NOT A PERMENANT LEAVE
They said that D.A.I is trying to bring a new sound to the group [I'm guessing Nagao was running dry on new compositions]
Ryo is also apparently interested in composing.
No one's sure though if it was Nagao who thought of the idea or if AVEX stepped in [since Matsuura is now in charge].
And no one knows how long he'll be gone, but someone said he'd be back in the fall.
So Nagao will be focusing on his own works for awhile

I'm not going to translate it all, but he sent in a demo tape to some Magazine called 'Music Man' [anyone ever hear of it?] and this man ƒzƒ?ƒCƒgƒAƒgƒ‰ƒX ?iŒ» ƒAƒNƒVƒu) is the one who saw his talent for writing. He then started composing and wanted to do something musically, but since he could not sing he started Do As Infinity.

I can understand each of us has different musical tastes but before to give a negative opinion you have to listen to full songs!

i agree...people are always saying "their new styles sucks" and i remember reading old reviews of their older albums like "deep forest" and "true song" and people were saying "their new style sucks" from those albums. people should just accept the fact that thier style can change with each album and be glad for that cause if it was always the same i think i would get really bored.

well... their older songs... i like them more... they definetly have a more heavier feeling and much more... darker theme upon them...
their newer songs.... are... bit light and sorda lack something that made them so much more popular a coupla years ago...

Do not worry. Dai Nagao will not leave Do As Infinity.
So long as Do As Infinity exists, Dai Nagao does his best to compose songs for Do As Infinity just like he has done up tp today.
